A Christmas Message

Decades ago, God answered Rob's audacious prayer and gave him "a vision for his whole life" — a vision to build a ministry on the north side of Keats Island where families and leaders would be refreshed and encouraged.

This year we are marking 40 years since that vision became reality.

Since then, with the partnership of people like you, the table has grown longer, the community larger, and what began as a small seed has blossomed into an abundant garden of God’s provision and grace.

Many people have shared with me over the past few years that Barnabas Landing stands as a place set apart — a harbour of rest and renewal where families and leaders encounter God, each other and themselves in profound ways and leave transformed.

One of the greatest joys of my past three years as Executive Director has been meeting and walking alongside people like you who believe in the vision, because you’ve experienced it.

I felt so incredibly loved and blessed the entire time. We felt like we were in another world, one of acknowledgement, care and acceptance.
— Family Retreat Guest, Summer 2025

With your prayerful support, this year we set the table for over 3,303 people.

  • 254 families who gathered over eight weeks in the summer.

  • 973 people joined us at 24 fall and spring retreats.

  • We welcomed 1,107 people from 36 guest groups this year including 888 people from 23 ministries like Arrow Leadership, Practicing the Way, Regent College and Sanctuary Mental Health.

At every table, strangers became friends, and friends became family in His welcoming embrace.

From all of us here at Barnabas Landing we wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas as you celebrate the birth of Jesus Emmanuel — God with us.

Jonny Lochhead is the Executive Director at Barnabas Landing.
