Position Title: Office Administrator
Reports To: Retreat Operations Manager
Location: Keats Island, BC
Position Type: Full-time, Year-round, OnsitePosition Summary
The Office Administrator plays a key role in supporting the ministry of Barnabas through excellent communication, organizational systems, and financial administration. This role manages day-to-day office operations, guest registrations, and payments, and provides administrative support to leadership.
With a balance of detail-oriented focus and warm hospitality, the Office Administrator ensures that guests, volunteers, and staff receive timely and accurate information, and that financial processes are handled with diligence and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Office Administration & Communications
Oversee daily office operations and maintain an organized work environment.
Manage phones and email communications with professionalism and warmth.
Respond to guest inquiries and disseminate retreat instructions and information.
Support Barnabas leadership with scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and other administrative tasks.
Financial Administration
Collect and process guest payments for Barnabas retreats and guest group bookings.
Carry out day-to-day financial tasks, including transferring funds, depositing cheques, and paying bills.
Assist with basic financial processing, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Information Management & Systems
Maintain accurate records for guests, volunteers, and bookings in CampBrain.
Share guest and volunteer information with staff teams through Slack and Google Suite.
Perform data entry, filing, mail processing, and record-keeping.
Supplies & Office Support
Monitor and maintain office supply levels, placing orders as needed.
Provide flexible support to the Guest Services Manager and leadership team.

Qualifications
High school graduation plus at least 3 years’ experience in customer service, finance, and/or administration.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable with technology and modern office software (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Zoom).
Experience with financial transactions or basic bookkeeping an asset.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $39,000 – $45,000, commensurate with experience.
Food & Housing: Access to staff food provisions program; onsite housing may be available, or staff may commute from the Sunshine Coast.
Vacation: 3 weeks paid time off annually.
Childcare: Possibility of onsite childcare can be negotiated.
Benefits: Group Benefit Program, including Extended Health Benefits and Insurance.

Position Title: Childcare Worker
Reports to: Childcare Coordinator
Location: Barnabas Landing, Keats Island, BC
Position Type: Part to Full-Time (40 hrs/week)Position Summary
We are looking for a Childcare Worker to join our staff childcare team. This is a hands-on role focused on caring for and engaging with children, primarily our younger staff kids (ages 1–5) and occasionally with older children (ages 5–10). Childcare Workers help create a nurturing, safe, and playful environment where kids can learn, explore, and enjoy their time at Barnabas.
Key Responsibilities
Provide attentive, hands-on care for children (ages 1–10)
Supervise playtime, outdoor activities, and daily routines
Lead age-appropriate crafts, games, and activities
Support meal and snack times
Ensure a safe, clean, and positive environment
Communicate warmly with parents and team members as needed
Work collaboratively under the direction of the Childcare Coordinator
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children (babysitting, camp, daycare, school, etc.)
Warm, patient, and enthusiastic about working with kids
Dependable and able to follow direction from the Childcare Coordinator
Early Childhood Education training is an asset but not required
High school graduation preferred
Compensation & Benefits
Pay commensurate with experience
Access to our staff food provisions program should you live onsite
On-site housing may be available, or you can commute daily from the Sunshine Coast (transportation provided from Gibsons Marina on scheduled runs)
