  • We are looking for a highly organized and fundamentally people-oriented individual to join our office team. The Office Administrator is responsible for managing Barnabas’ day-to-day communications and administration, handling all individual and group communications for over 60 retreats involving thousands of guests annually. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: answering phone calls, responding to emails, processing physical mail, managing calendars and scheduling meetings, maintaining and ordering office supplies, performing entry-level financial tasks, updating, exporting and disseminating guest and volunteer information via our registration software (Campbrain), preparing documentation and providing administrative support to the Barnabas leadership. This is a dynamic role for someone with strong organizational, relational and communication skills.

    DETAILS:

    • Hours: Full-time, 40 Hours/week

    • Compensation: Pay commensurate with experience; $39,000+. Access to our staff food provisions program and on-site housing may be available as part of the compensation package, or you could join our team members who commute daily from the Sunshine Coast to our property on the north side of Keats Island.

    • Work Location: Onsite on Keats Island, BC

    • Minimum Experience: High school graduation, +1 year of experience in customer service and/or administration. Must be comfortable working with technology and modern office software (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Zoom).

  • We are looking for a new team member to join our Staff Childcare department! The Childcare Coordinator leads Barnabas’ Childcare department, supervising our team of childcare staff and overseeing the quality care of our staff kids. Other childcare team member positions involving less leadership are also a possibility. All Childcare team members work regularly with our younger staff kids (1-5 years old) and occasionally with our older staff kids (5-10 years old) onsite at Barnabas.

    DETAILS

    • Hours: Full-time, 40 Hours/week

    • Compensation: Pay commensurate with experience; $35,000+. Access to our staff food provisions program and on-site housing may be available as part of the compensation package, or you could join our team members who commute daily from the Sunshine Coast to our property on the north side of Keats Island.

    • Work Location: Onsite on Keats Island, BC

    • Minimum Experience: High school graduation, must have experience working with children. Early Childhood Education training an asset.

  • Would you like to live and serve at Barnabas for a season? We are looking for a new team member to join our Hospitality staff for the next season of retreats (January - June 2025). Join our year-round community on Keats Island, BC, setting the table for guests to experience rest and encounter the restoration of Jesus.

    Our Seasonal Hospitality Staff play an essential role in supporting the guest experience at Barnabas Landing – from washing dishes and setting beautiful tables, to warmly welcoming guests and helping with luggage, to weeding on our farm and chopping vegetables in our bustling kitchen!

    Accordingly, we are looking to fill positions across multiple departments, including but (not limited to) hospitality, dining, dishes, housekeeping, property care and staff childcare. We would be happy to discuss your interests and strengths during the interview process; most positions will involve tasks and responsibilities across multiple departments with a focus on guest hospitality.

     DETAILS

    • Start Date: January 6, 2025

    • End Date: June 20, 2025

    • Hours: Full-time, 40 Hours/Week

    • Pay: Commensurate with experience – typically a monthly honorarium of $1,500+, plus provided room and board

    • Housing: On-site housing in a shared community setting is available. Alternatively, you could join our team members who commute daily from the Sunshine Coast to our property on the north side of Keats Island.

    • Food: In addition to room, board is also provided. We love food here at Barnabas; hot tasty meals will be provided when guests are onsite, with access to our staff food provisions program (unlimited ingredients from the Barnabas kitchen) during quieter periods in the retreat calendar.

    • Work Location: Onsite on Keats Island, BC

    • Minimum Experience: High school graduation. Experience in customer service, hospitality or ministry settings would be an asset.
