Worship Leaders
November 18 - 21, 2025
Featuring:
Darrell Johnson, Marissa Ochoa,
Evan & Sandy Wickham, and Nicole McLean

Join us around the warmth of God’s Presence.
We invite you to a new gathering at Barnabas Landing, created especially for Worship Leaders.
Those who lead others into God’s presence often lack spaces to be renewed themselves. This retreat will offer space for just that — heart-level refreshment and renewal. Together with father & daughter Darrell Johnson & Marissa Ochoa, alongside friends from the worship world, we’ll explore a deeply rooted theology of worship, with thoughtful, practical conversations to ground us in both calling and craft. During spacious times of fireside worship, we’ll invite the Holy Spirit to draw us nearer to the Father’s heart.
Outside of sessions, you’ll have plenty of time to rest, connect with others who understand the rhythms of ministry life, and enjoy the beauty of Barnabas. Join us around the warmth of God’s presence. You don’t need to bring a thing.
Note: You don’t need to be an employed worship pastor to attend. While we’ll engage the realities of ministry life, this retreat is open to all who serve in worship.

Marissa Ochoa has been leading worship for the past 20 years. She's been on staff at Tenth Avenue Alliance Church since 2015 as the School-Age Children's Pastor as well as a Worship Pastor. She is very soon transitioning to Peace Portal Church as Worship and Arts Pastor. She recently returned from Toronto, spending time with 20 other worship leaders representing nearly every province, under Crossroads Media, writing songs for the greater Church in hopes that many would come to know and sing about the great love of Jesus.
Marissa has a huge heart for worship leaders and for our calling and alignment to be renewed through theological teaching and understanding of what worship truly is, while also providing spaces for us to spend meaningful and intimate moments with Jesus through music and prayer.
Marissa and her dad, Darrell, are looking forward to creating space for you to come, find restoration and be filled by his Spirit.

Evan and Sandy met and started dating in high school. They got married when they were both 19 and now have five kids– four boys and one girl. Since their 20s, they have shared a vision for planting a church in San Diego together and would often walk the streets of North Park praying for God to move in the city. Eventually, God called them to Portland to be trained as church planters for four years.
In 2017, they moved back to their hometown of San Diego to plant Park Hill Church. In addition to leading and shepherding Park Hill pastorally, Evan and Sandy serve as elders leading and guiding the church as co-equal partners. Evan and Sandy have developed important weekly family rhythms over the years–their Thursday date nights are non-negotiable, and every Friday is their Sabbath. Their family loves hiking together and they are all proud owners of a Greek tortoise and a golden doodle.

Nicole McLean
Nicole McLean is a worship leader, songwriter and artist, who currently serves as the Creative Executive Pastor at Hillsong California. Originally hailing from Alabama and now living in Los Angeles, Nicole’s heart beats for people to experience the richness of God’s presence and power. With a passion for Kingdom creativity, she has poured the last 15 years of her life into raising up worship leaders, cultivating space for the Spirit to move in creative communities, and writing songs that reflect the reality of Heaven breaking into earth. Her songwriting journey is marked by a deep reverence for God’s presence and a relentless hope for the Church to live fully in its Kingdom identity.
Nicole carries a desire to see worship expressions rooted in both theological depth and true personal encounter with Jesus. She believes worship isn’t just something we do, but a way we live our lives in relationship with Jesus, and she longs to see the Church continue to awaken to that revelation.
