Summer 2025 Job Postings

  • Planning, implementing, and supervising the summer program including:

    • Spiritual theme

    • Family Circle and Campfire

Responsible for:

  • The leadership, program planning, and supervision of designated age group

  • Spiritual input to children in designated age group

  • Assisting in program development and execution including:

    • Leading games

    • Leading free-time activities

    • Participating in skits

    • Participating on worship team

  • Writing a follow-up letter to all children in designated age group within two weeks after they were here

  • Supervision of children during morning and evening sessions

  • Assisting with housekeeping and general property clean up after guests depart on day 6

  • Help other departments as needed

  • Contributing to and assisting in staff community life

Caring for the children of the year-round staff team during the summer program.

  • Generally working as part of Staff Childcare team to provide care for staff kids from 8am-5:30pm, occasionally into the evening.

  • Daily tidying and cleaning as necessary of staff childcare spaces (ie, the Mill)

  • Deep cleaning of staff childcare space & bathroom weekly

  • Help other departments as needed

  • Contributing to and assisting in staff community life

 

For younger staff kids:

  • Providing physical care and nurturing for younger staff children (1-7 years)

  • Leading circle times for younger children, including age-appropriate Bible stories, songs, prayers and memory verses

  • Leading simple crafts and activities for younger kids

  • Occasionally supervising/accompanying kids at waterfront

  • Sometimes helping younger kids get their meals during lunch, and sitting with/supervising them at mealtimes.

For older staff kids:

  • Providing physical supervision, leadership and emotional/spiritual investment in older staff children (8-13)

  • Leading more complex crafts, games, and activities for older kids

  • Leading devotions for and praying with older kids

  • Supervising older kids at waterfront in the afternoons

  • Working with the Summer Director to plan and develop the Rowing Club program curriculum

  • Provide supervision and training for the Rowing Club in the following:

    • Dish-pit

    • Childcare

    • Pavilion Setup

  • Coordinate bedtime patrol with the Assistant Program Director

  • Providing spiritual direction to the First Mate, Coxswains and Rowing Club

  • Overseeing the First Mate and Coxswains and providing mentorship and leadership opportunities

  • Participate with the Rowing Club members in work and organized recreation

  • Help other departments as needed

  • Contributing to and assisting in staff community life

  • Working with the Rowing Club Captain to provide direction and leadership to the Rowing Club

  • Scheduling Rowing Club members responsibilities

  • Being the point person for the Rowing Club when the Rowing Club Captain is off

  • Assisting the Rowing Club Captain in leadership of devotional times

  • Providing leadership over the Rowing Club during babysitting and bed time patrol times

  • Providing spiritual mentorship to Rowing Club in conjunction with Rowing Club Captain

  • Help other departments as needed

  • Contributing to and assisting in staff community life

  • Lifeguarding all swimming activities during afternoon free time and in group times as requested

  • Ensuring all waterfront staff are familiar with emergency procedures and directing them in the event of an emergency

  • First-responder to emergencies on the dock

  • Assist Waterfront Director and Boat Driver in maintenance and cleaning of boats, dock, and all waterfront equipment

  • Assisting in the program execution involving the waterfront

  • Assisting with luggage runs

  • Helping with dishes for Adult Dinner

  • Help other departments as needed

  • Contributing to and assisting in staff community life

  • Driving the tube boat during afternoon free time and for extra waterfront times for teens, Rowing Club, etc.

  • Assisting with trailering the boats each day

  • Regular cleaning and maintenance of the tube and ski boat, including:

    • Flushing the engine after each use

    • Rinsing the boat with fresh water after each use

    • Wiping down windows after each use

    • Vacuuming carpets each week or as needed

    • Waxing the boat ever two weeks

  • Caring for the tubes, including patching any holes that are formed

  • Assisting with luggage runs

  • Helping with dishes for Adult Dinner

  • Help other departments as needed

  • Contributing to and assisting in staff community life

  • Collecting, sorting, and dealing with garbage and recycling

  • Delivering outgoing mail to Post Office and picking up incoming mail

  • Running errands in Gibsons twice a week or as needed

  • Assisting with loading and transporting luggage

  • Regularly cleaning and maintaining ‘Lodi’ the town-boat

  • Assisting in maintenance projects on property

  • Helping with dishes for Adult Dinner

  • Possibility of regular ski-boat shifts depending on experience

  • Help other departments as needed

  • Mowing grass with ride-on mower and push mower

  • Line-edging grass around paths with string-trimmer

  • Trimming blackberry bushes, alders, etc.

  • Assisting in the loading and movement of luggage

  • Assisting in maintenance projects on property

  • Assist in all areas of vegetable production: seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, and processing

  • Caring for and feeding farm livestock (chickens, pigs, and ducks)

  • Developing and leading farm activities for program groups

  • Helping with dishes for Adult Dinner

  • Contributing to and assisting in staff community life

  • Working as part of the kitchen team to create amazing meals to serve our guests

  • Helping to create an elevated dining experience for our special Adult Dinner each week, including taking complete ownership to plan and prepare a course for the dinner each week

  • Ensuring guests with dietary restrictions are well taken care of at each meal

  • Communicating buffet table needs with the Rowing Club Captain for each meal

  • Helping with kitchen laundry

  • Help other departments as needed

This person will spend 70% of their role responsible for:

  • Maintaining our beautiful guest spaces while guests are here

  • Being part of the team to prepare the rooms, spaces and property for the next group of guests

The remaining 30% of this role will be determined based on skillset and areas of interest of the applicant

  • Creating a highlight video each week, 9 weeks in total

  • Capturing footage showing what a week at Barnabas looks like

  • Editing a video approximately 15 minutes in length to show at the end of the week

  • Uploading the weekly highlight videos to the Barnabas Youtube channel

  • Capturing family photos each week

  • Editing other short highlight videos, for example summer staff promo, etc.

  • Help other departments as needed

  • Contributing to and assisting in staff community life

  • Communicating with guests by phone and email during office hours (answering general inquiries, sending instructions for upcoming retreats, etc.)

  • Preparing and disseminating documents and communications

  • Capturing, planning and creating content for Barnabas Landing’s social media channels, in collaboration with the Videographer

  • Inventory and re-stocking of office supplies and resources

  • Help other departments as needed

  • Assist the General Store Manager with set up of the General Store for summer operation

  • Assist the General Store Manager with training and supervision of the General Store Volunteers

  • Operation of the General Store during store hours

Spend a month at Barnabas Landing assisting the Club Captain and First Mate in leading the Rowing Club. As Coxswain you will live with the Rowing Club members and act as cabin leader for the team. Serving for a month at Barnabas is a great opportunity for teens aged 16 and up who are interested in joining summer staff in the future.

Join the Farm Team at Barnabas Landing for a month and learn the ins and outs of running the farm. You will assist the team in harvesting, weeding, caring for animals, and helping tour kids groups on the farm. Serving for a month at Barnabas is a great opportunity for teens aged 16 and up who are interested in joining summer staff in the future.

Join our General Store team for a month and gain valuable retail experience running the till, scooping ice cream, operating the espresso machine, and more! Work alongside our amazing store team for a month of learning and lots of fun! Serving for a month at Barnabas is a great opportunity for teens aged 16 and up who are interested in joining summer staff in the future.

Our volunteer Program Assistant will gain a variety of experience helping our summer program run. This one-month position will assist with kids groups, help facilitate free time activities for families in the afternoons, and much more. Serving for a month at Barnabas is a great opportunity for teens aged 16 and up who are interested in joining summer staff in the future.
