Travelling Light:
Learning the Unforced Rhythms of Grace

Jesus invites those of us who are wearied and burdened – for all kinds of reasons — to come to him, take on a new way of life and find rest for our souls. This week, alongside our speakers David & Kathryn Fields, we will explore the theme of travelling light and discuss what it means to “learn the unforced rhythms of grace” in the day-to-day of real life.

DAVID & KATHRYN FIELDS

David and Kathryn Fields met at UNBC while pursuing their undergrad studies in the sciences. After marrying in 2003, they both did graduate studies at McMaster in Hamilton and returned to Kamloops, BC in 2006 where they have been raising their two boys.

Dave has been pastoring at Summit Drive Church since 2006. He has been in the Lead Pastor role since completing his doctoral studies at Acadia University in 2017. He is author of the book Preaching and the Mission of God: Faithful Witness After Christendom and has a deep passion to help people follow Jesus and hear God’s voice through the Scriptures.

Kathryn serves in and around Kamloops through her work as an occupational therapist, assisting people who have experienced injury or trauma to return to meaningful activities such as daily living skills and work. Kathryn has a heart to help people know their worth in God’s eyes, and loves to use her gifts of service and encouragement in the community.

Together, Dave and Kathryn enjoy all things outdoors, reading, playing music, and spending time with their kids and friends.
